Meeting with Secretary of state (SEFOPE) in Caicoli Dili Timor-Leste


On 11-02-19. The Association Mariner of Timor-Leste (AMTL), conducted a meeting with secretary of state (SEFOPE) in Caicoli Dili Timor-Leste. The topics of the meeting were:

1. To introduce the availability of Timorese seafarers resources which are consist of; deck officers, engine officers, deck and engine ratings and port administration officers who are now consentrated under the umbrella of the association mariner of Timor-Leste (AMTL).
2. To build the plan and strategy in order to compete in the demand of maritime industry market in the future The outcome of the meeting was a positive support from his excellence and the team with motivation for us to keep good performance, upgrade skills and maintain discipline to achieve the goal. ** Thanks for his excellence and the team for the hospitality**

Meeting with the E commission in the parliament of Timor-Leste

On 07th-02-19 we held the meeting with the head of the E commission for economy and development division in parliament of Timor-Leste.
We were discussing on the topic of:
1. How to create the plan and strategy to assign Timorese seafarer on board
2. To look for the way to ratify the IMO convention
Conclusion:
The E commission division will call out to all relevant institutions to discuss this matter, hence to give more opportunity for Timorese Seafarers to go overseas.

Vision


The vision of the Association as follows:

1.     To promote the Timorese seafarers to be a professional, worthy and prosperous seafarer in the future
2.     To produce Timorese seafarers who could uphold the name of the Republic Democratic of Timor-Leste with a great quality and performance in comply with IMO standard.

3.     To accrue all Timorese seafarers without any discrimination.

      The Aims of the association

      The Aims of the Association as follows:
      • To assist the governments of Timor-Leste in establishment of maritime law and regulation in comply with IMO (International Maritime Organization) standard if required. 
      • To accrue and to promote the Timor-Leste seafarers in comply with STCW (standard Training Certification and watchkeeping) Manila amendment 2012 and MLC (Maritime Labor Code) 2006 and other conventions.
      • To endorse Timor-Leste seafarers capacity to be able to compete in the national and international maritime industry as this will simultaneously increase their economy and also decrease the number of unemployment.
      • To give opportunity for Timorese seafarers to exercise their ability base on their experiences and training level.
      • To downsize the number of foreigner seafarers who have same qualification with Timorese seafarers.
      • To protect and to look after the rights of Timorese Seafarers.

      Mission


      The Mission of the Association as follows: 



      1) To uphold the principle of Republic Democratic of Timor-Leste which is ‘State of the Democratic
      2)   To participate in the social activities to benefit the common interest
      3)   To accrue all Timorese seafarers under this association without any discrimination.
      4)   To promote the skills of each seafarers in accordance with their designated tasks.
